HP Tuners Credits, Explained
What a credit is, why the count varies between vehicles, and why the charge is passed through at cost rather than folded into the hourly rate.
Journal
What the numbers mean, how a session actually runs, and the questions that come up often enough to be worth writing down properly.
Every piece here comes out of a question somebody actually asked in the bay, usually while a car was strapped down and the answer needed to be short. Written out properly, most of them turn out to be worth more than the thirty seconds they originally got.
None of it is general advice collected from elsewhere. It is how this shop works, what the equipment here can and cannot do, and what the figures on our own run sheets mean. Where a piece quotes numbers, they come from a session that is published on this site in full rather than from an example invented to make a point.
If something you want covered is missing, say so when you call. The questions that keep coming back are the ones that get written down.
Calibration
Both are GM V8s and both respond well to calibration, but they are not the same job. The differences are worth understanding before you decide what to spend.

Before you book
What to check before you load the trailer, what to bring with you, and the handful of faults that end a session early. A practical checklist from the shop floor.
Measurement
Why one engine gets advertised with two different figures, which one a chassis dyno measures, and why drivetrain loss percentages are mostly guesswork.
Measurement
Two curves, a correction factor and a column of weather data. A line by line walk through a real run sheet, using a published session from the shop.
Measurement
A baseline run is the measurement every later decision gets compared against. What the first session on the rollers reveals about your engine, and what it cannot.
None of this replaces putting the car on the rollers. A session starts at $250 and you leave with the sheet.
